Feature Requests / gpx editing
« on: March 28, 2011, 10:09:39 AM »
I can't see how to work on the gpx file directly or export a waypoint list to excel. Both would be useful features for my current project.

Feature Requests / display order

I'd like to see the ability to alter the display order different gpx tracks, unless I'm missing that feature.

TopoFusion Pro / waypoint label scaling

When exporting a view at higher than current (screen) resolution, waypoint labels come out very small rather than as shown on the screen. Am I missing something?

Archived Support / export view

I'm not able to export at highest quality. 1200x1600 is the max. My problem is compounded by the fact that my desired output is oriented vertically. Using the aerial as a base. Best solution so far is to export 2 files and stitch in photoshop. I searched the forum for hints and found nothing recent about this subject. Is this this still an area that you are trying to make some improvements?

I found the workaround about reactivating ATI color controls in driver settings on the net, can't remember where. Some games have the same problem. Something in Direct X? Gamma? http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb173460.aspx

I noticed the brightness/contrast change when launching TF. I figure it may be related to the ATI driver. If I go to the Catalyst driver control panel>color>reactivate ATI color controls, the screen dims back to normal. TF seems to be taking control of driver settings.

Archived Support / multiple track segment selection
« on: April 12, 2007, 07:43:39 AM »
Is there a way to select multiple track segments and join them? Example: network creation results in some gaps or 2 sections that are logically one.

Is there a way to select multiple track segments and copy these features to a new file? Example: you have a network file for an area that you want to define a route through.

Thanks and pardon me if I'm missing something obvious

To insert a point as you say doesn't seem to work on an endpoint. I was trying to reconnect a 2 point section that got snipped off in the network creation process. I think adding some points is possible  with the spline process, but something more direct as far as point editing goes might be nice. The arcview model is pretty good - enter vertex edit mode, right click on the line to add, hover and press delete to delete.

Thanks for the reply, I'm sure I'll have more questions!

Testing out the demo and wonder if I'm missing something.

I see how to split one track into 2. I can select one of those sections. How do you delete one of those sections?

If you are manually editing a track on the map and want to add a point, how do you do that?

If you select a point, I don't see it highlighted on the track properties list. Maybe not a big deal, but I was trying to get rid of a range of trackpoints and tried to do it that way to no avail.

I've been using Arcview 3.2 to do this sort of thing with no issue, but would like to end up with gpx output. Converting an AV shapefile to text and then gpx is ok but there's a lot of extraneous connector lines between track sections that are not in order.

Any hints appreciated.
