I have a small list of feature requests, some huge, some small.  Thanks in advance for listening.

in no order:
1. when no Urban tile is available, use Aerial, instead of showing "not available" as a tile.  Maybe make it a preference.
2. increase the cache limit for tiles, I have more than a terabyte of space available '<img'>
3. have a way to follow playback when in 3D mode
4. make the File >> Export view work like a screenshot button for games, where all I'd have to do is press F10 (for example) and it would auto-save an auto-incremented JPEG in a default folder
5. make the climbing analysis wait 1 second before recalculating, it makes it hard to move the "Minimum Gain" slider bar (especially when my track is my "Seattle to Portland" track with it's 10,200 points of data.
6. have the 3D view go further out into the horizon (maybe with less resolution) like DeLorme's TopoUSA does
7. have a way to make the 3D view brighter, it's kinda dark, especially when exaggerated to 8X height.
8. make a way to output the 3D view with playback to AVI  '<img'>

Thanks in advance for anything you can do about any of these!!!

Kuren,

Thanks for the extensive list.  All very good ideas.  Quickly, though:

#2 - the tile cache size is in memory, not on disk.  The disk cache is only limited by your hard drive.  Once you download it you always have it.

#5 - yep, something needs to be done here.  I have a track that is 170,000 points (great divide route) and I can't even use the sliders because it takes so long.

I'm surprised your STP track came out with so much total climbing.  What GPS did you use?

I used the Garmin GPSMAP60CS, seen here

I had the track log set to "most often" and I actually lost the first 12 miles of the 202 mile trip.  My friend had his Garmin eTrex Vista C and he was riding right next to me, so I combined his 12 miles with my 190.

there's a discussion about the climbing formula's in my local bike club's forums: 2005 STP GPS track history

Thanks for making such an awesome program!!

9. Grade Shading on the profile, rise/run (or inclination)

10. have an ability to select a large area which will output to a JPEG or PNG, like a screenshot, but much larger, with a 1 to 1 ratio.  USAPhotoMaps has a feature like this which will make some very large JPEG's without re-compressing the JPEG tiles.  It does some lossless combining of the JPEGs.
