Data for a Selection
« on: July 26, 2009, 08:24:20 PM »
I ride the same trails quite a bit. On one trail in particular, there is a section of the trail I try to ride more or less consistently, and other parts are pretty variable in route and effort.

I would love to be able to select a region and get a snapshot of the data for that region, including climbing profile. That way, I have a way to quantitatively determine how I did over that section compared to past times through that section.

Take for example a networked set of trails. I ride various permutations, but always ride one section the same. It is impossible to compare the ride as a whole to other rides, especially when the routes are different. However, since I always ride the one segment the same direction, I would like to be able to compare how I rode that segment to that segment in other rides.

Thanks again.

Hey,

Have you tried using multi-track playback with all your tracks?

You can use the 'start "click start point on map" to choose a point (closest point for every track to the click) to start all the tracks.

You can then compare just that section (assuming they are all going the same direction) and even turn stats like speed, HR, cad, power, etc on, per track.

I know is the quite old, but any other ways to do this?  I most often find myself wanting a function like this when I want to time/measure a section of a long ride that coincided with riding in a group or split certain sections of track to view singletrack vs doubletrack etc.  Certainly the feature I'd love to see added most.

I've had difficulty doing the same thing by cutting the tracks in two or more sections as there doesn't seem to be a way to see the data in a summary format without saving each part of the track as a separate track which is also a bit labor intensive.
