Title: problem with 3D view with beta 3.07

i just loaded up the beta 3.07 version.  the picture blacks out when making a 3D view of a topo map.

That's strange.  What version were you using before 3.07?  Not *much* has changed in the 3D code since 3.0.

Terraserver is having problems right now, but you'd get white maps, not black.  If you already have the topos downloaded it should be working.

Maybe post/email your logfile and we can see if there are any clues there.

i downloaded another hike, the 3D function appears to be working alright but i can only get tilesets for landsat...so the terraserver problem is still ongoing?
