New Feature - Log Book
« on: March 12, 2004, 08:33:45 PM »
In the next beta, the TopoFusion log book will be available--useful not only as a training tool but also as a nice index to large collections of GPX files.  Also, total statistics can be computed across time periods (or on all GPX files).

I'm very interested in trying out the logbook feature with the forerunner 201.  But, when I download files from Forerunner to topofusion, all runs are stored in one file.  How do I separate them?  Logbook also shows them all on one day.  Thanks

The download dialog should give you the option of deleting all of the tracks you don't want.  Just select them (likely the saved tracks) and remove them.

I am going to extend the functionality of this dialog to allow you to save multiple files per download (right now only one is allowed).

It will be in the next beta release.

Until then you can use the profile/merge tool to select a track, then right click to do "Save as.." into a new filename.

Thanks for your response.

Since all my runs to date were on the same trail, It's virtually impossible to use the profile tool to select.  But I did figure out that I could delete tracks when I download, so I ended up downloading all 10 runs, 10 times and deleting all but one run to save in a file.  That worked great.  Thanks!

Hey Scott,

the logbook is great. Have one comment, though. On some days, I do more than one ride in a day, which I save into multiple gpx files. Can you modify the logbook to show info on all the entries for that particular day? E.g. just to have one gpx file name per row in the calendar day display, clicking on each line will display details in the lower info window.

Thanks,
MC

Hi Martin,

How are the trails melting up in SLC?  Riding season has returned!

I agree about multiple files per day.  For runners this is an even more frequent occurrence (my girl usually runs twice a day).

I will see what I can do to split the lines, but there is only so much room in the boxes.  Maybe clicking on the box once will give you the first one, then clicking again will give you the next one.  The summary statistics already take into account multiple files per day.

Now, anything over 2 files could get a bit tricky.  I will have to think about the best way to handle this before running of to implement it.

Scott,

cycling through the day files through clicking sounds good to me. More in direct e-mail.
