Blue Ball - option for removing it?

I like to zoom into a place I've been and look around by rotating the 3D map. However, to rotate around a point located on the ground, the ball grows to a very large size. Is there anyway to turn it off. If not, having this option in the future would be much appreciated. It looks quite funny on exported views!

I'd like this option too.  The only time I find the ball useful is when I'm panning or rotating the 3D view.  It would be nice to have an option to have it automatically appear during the manipulation and then go away.

For now (beta released today), it will be gone from exported views , I agree that it looks silly. Ā Perhaps in the future we'll add some time-delay for it toĀ disappear.
