Color Aerials Los Angeles
« on: February 01, 2005, 08:15:26 PM »
A few Betas back, I was able to choose color aerials for Los Angeles.  I can enable them in Preferences but they do not show up in the select box.  I can "uncheck" all the aerials and restart Topofusion and the aerials still are displayed and can be chosen despite being disabled.  Not sure if I've missed something?

I don't think there ever have been color (urban) aerials for LA.  If there were, they would have been stored on your hard drive, so they'd show up.  What comes up now, white fuzz? Are you thinking of the LandSat tiles?  If so, those are still there in the drop down.

All the tilesets show up in the drop down box regardless of whether they are enabled or not.  But selecting them will go to either the next higher or next lower enabled tileset.  If all are disabled you'll still get one of them (like AIR 1M) for example.

Krein, attached is a link to a map on the terraserver site.  This is exactly what I had showing for that brief period of time.  I definitely remember seeing "color aerial"  as a map choice within Topofusion.  On the site, it doesn't show up under the color aerial tab but is under the tab "urban area".

LA color aerial

Boy, do i feel dumb!  All I have to do is to choose "Urban" in the list box!  Sorry for this waste of time!

No worries.

You can also hit the "C" key to switch to color aerials (if they are available).

"L" goes to landsat, "B" to b/w aerial
