3D Blacks Out
« on: January 04, 2007, 09:57:54 PM »
Just downloaded and tried Beta 2.986. When using 3D  with landsat tiles the screen blanks when I try to move or rotate the 3d image. Have not noticed a problem yet with other tile sets. Running Win XP pro SP2.

Strange.

The 3D now does a little animation where the terrain 'grows' out.  Do the landsat maps show up during the animation, and then go black when you go to move it?

Any idea if landsat+3d worked in previous betas?

Thanks!

The terrain grows out and forms the 3d image. The blacking out occurs when I try to rotate or move the image. Sometimes it blacks out completely, sometimes it is progressive - more blacks out each time I move it. Yes, I had this problem with other betas. It has actually gotten better. The problem also occured infrequently with the pre-direct x 9 version of topofusion, but never like with these betas.

Just downloaded 2.99 and the 3d blackout problem has not occured yet. However, when I load topofusion, my entire screen dims (as if a grey filter were put over it). All functionality remains and once I close Topofusion the screen returns to normal.

Go to Image Processing and hit 'default' to return the brightness/contrast back to normal.  The current way is experimental -- not sure if I want to keep it that way.  It does effect all of windows until the program is closed, which might be considered poor program behaviour.

I should have checked that. That fixed it.
