Thanks for the bug report.  There is one other user who is having the same problem.

What does the error message say when is crashes?  Excpetion, "contact windows tech support", "access violation?"

Can you try hitting the '3' key (to download an elevation model for the current area) to see if that crashes?  That will tell me if it's in the new server/http code or in the landsat tile management itself.

Thanks,.

When I try to download LandSat it crashes, it just kicks me out of the program with no explanation.

I have to use previously downloaded DEM files to make the 3D work.  If I set the Options 3D setting to "Always download (US or World files) I get an  "Access Violation" and the 3D wont Render, but the program will not crash.

Thank you

OK, just a few more questions -- are you using a proxy server (internet settings), and do you have 'persistent connections' checked?

Also, how many downloading threads?

Thanks!

I am not using a Proxy Server.  I do not have 'Persistent Connections' checked

Number of connections is set at 8.

Hope this helps, Thanks

Wait, can you check the file date on your Corona.dll ?  Are you sure you overwrote it with the new one in the beta zip file?

The corona.dll in your program files\topofusion directory should be dated 1/14/2005.

This would explain the error perfectly!  I've fixed it to output a meaningful message rather than crapping out as it does in 2.17.

I've got a debug version for you to test unless (I hope) the problem was just the wrong version of corona.dll.

Sorry but I Did overwrite the Corona.dll and I just checked and the date is 1/14/2005 so that should not be the problem

Ok, thanks for the quick response.

Give v2.18 (up now) a try.  Try getting a 3d model from the nasa server, then when it crashes if you could email the file 'TopoFusion.log' to smorris@topofusion.com I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

I seem to be having a similar problem. Every time I try to use the ladsat tileset TF crashes on me. Here is the log file that gets generated. I downloaded the 2,18 version when I read this thread, but it didn't seem to help. I've tried different settings on the Preferences->Internet tab, but they all generate the same result. The other tile sets work fine, but the landsat immediately crashes me. I'll try another box to see if it is something in the hardware that is causing a problem.

Hi,

Can either of you download the current beta version (still 2.18, but it has more debug information), then give it a try?

It might behave a bit differently now (not crashing, just not working), but I've added even more debug info to further track down the problem.

If you can post or email (smorris@topofusion.com) the resulting log file I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks. I followed your advice and emailed Scott. He's looking at the issue so we'll see how that works. The odd thing is that the landsat tileset will work perfectly on my other boxes, just not on my main computer. Oh well, we'll see.
