weird startup crash

for awhile there, i was using topofusion (1.49) and loving it, and then one day it just wouldnt start, giving the same error on every load :

Exception: Access Violation, in InitIndexFile

uninstall reinstall, nothing.
uninstall reinstall new version (1.52), nothing.

i'm sorely missing this program and am definitely looking forward to the new version with 3D rendering (ive seen this in some other program but never managed to dig up the right data to use it)

anyway, any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
keep up the good work, let me know if you need any beta testers.

TopoFusion seems to be crashing while trying to initialize your maps files (mapIndex.dat, maps0.dat).  If they are small enough, could you please email them to support@topofusion.com?  If you don't mind losing the maps you've already downloaded, just delete them (or move them elsewhere for now).  We'd definitely like to fix the problem so if your files are small enough, please send them.
