Spline tool not in demo version?
« on: June 06, 2007, 04:45:21 AM »
I've downloaded Topofusion Pro 3.07, and I've loaded a .gpx track file from a driving session. The track shows up just fine, but when I right-click the track or on a trackpoint, nothing happens, no pop-up menu shows up. Hence I am unable to try the spline tool (which is why I downloaded the software in the first place).

I've tried using all the different tools, but to no avail. The only tool that seems to have a right-click menu is the Profile and Playback tool, but that is of no help, since it doesn't include the spline tool.

Spline tool not in demo version?

Hi,

That's strange.  The spline tool is active in the demo version -- everything is, in fact.  Very strange that you can't get the right click context menu to come up.

Are you viewing in Landsat or topo/aerial mode?  Whatever your answer, try switching to the other and see if you can get the menu to come up.

There have been a few bugs related to this, so there could be another one lurking.  Try restarting TopoFusion to force it to re-load the .GPX file.

Otherwise, if you're still having trouble, please email the file to support@topofusion.com and we'll gladly take a look.  If there's a bug, we'll have it fixed ASAP.

Thanks.

I think I've tried just about every mode and every button there is, but to no avail. I've restarted the program several times, I've removed and reloaded the file several times, but it just refuses to work. It doesn't work with the supplied sample files either. In aerial mode I can select and move points by left-clicking, but no right-click menu appears.

I'll send you the GPX-file I've been using, but as I said, it doesn't work with the supplie sample files either.

I'm running WinXP Pro SP1, in case that matters.

Are you sure that you have map tiles enabled?

There is a bug in 3.07 that makes it so you can't select anything if you have the map tile (little checkerboard toggle on the toolbar) off.

I can select your file just fine.

Oh, wait, you're not using the select points tool (the regular mouse arrow) to try and select the track, are you?  There is no right click menu for that tool.  You need to be in the pan (hand) mode to select a track.

It's funny this came up right now.  I'm just in the process of adding a "simplify/spline" menu option that simply asks you to click on the track you want to work on.  Should make the UI a little more friendly.

I was sure I had tried that too, but obviously I hadn't. It works now. Thanks!  :-)
