Copy/Paste Trackpoints

Being able to move trackpoints is a great feature, but often i need to insert trackpoints from one track into another track.  Has anybody figured out how to do that?  Thanks!

You can cut tracks up using the scissors.

Then use the profile/merge tool to form a new track (holding shift down).  

Right click -> save as.. to save out the finished product.
