When I attempt to zoom in beyond 4300 ft. or so (Arial mode) I get the white-block out and "Downloading Disabled" banners.  I used to be able to zoom in very tight (even though at some point you got blurry pictures).  Any tips?

You need to re-enable downloading by clicking the toggle on the toolbar.  It looks like this:
