How close must parallel tracks be
« on: June 15, 2004, 05:49:35 PM »
For them to be reconized as parallel tracks?

I have a track in which the same trail is transversed three times.

Making a network joined two of the tracks. I would like the third to be included, at least until it does branch off.

How would, or should, I move a segment of track?

Try increasing the "Reduction strength" slider.  This is a measure of how close two parallel tracks must be to each other (in terms of their maximal minimum distance which is called the Hausdorff distance).  See if that works.

Thanks.

Well, since the dataset I would perform this on is the same that reproduces the access violation reported yesterday I'll wait to see what becomes of that.

When I did try playing with the strength sliders (only to 99) there was:
no difference
access violation
'hang'

BTW: The dataset is winging its way to you as I type this.
