I am using TopoFusion Pro v 3.12, installed yesterday.
Everything works as expected, but TF crashes when I try to generate the HTML page. Before it crashes, it manages to send three files to the target directory: aerial.jpg, profile.bmp and topo.jpg.

Hi,

Saw your crash report -- thanks for submitting that.

Regarding the pathname (referenced in the report) -- that should be fine. There's no leading slash for me and it works A-OK. Also, you can't choose the name of the .html file, it's just a target directory and comes out as index.html.

A few questions, if you will:

I assume you first use the "Place pictures as waypoints" button to place some photos on the map?

Was this successful? (did you get photos on your GPS track?)

Was the photo toggle (on the tool bar) on or off? i.e., was TopoFusion displaying photo thumbnails on the maps, or just camera icons?

Hopefully I can track this down. My first guess is maybe some trouble reading a .jpg file, for some reason, that the regular photo displaying code handles OK (no initial crash), but becomes a problem with HTML generation.

Thanks and sorry about the bug! I thought PhotoFusion was pretty rock solid.

Yes, this worked fine.

The photo toggle was ON and I could see the photos. Will now try with togglebar off after I have sent off this answer. The crash is rather severe, requiring a re-start.

On a completely different topic: I cant see my own posts or your answer in the General support forum. I could only find it by clicking on the opening forum page "last post" link.

I had a closer look at your logfile and there is definitely a bug in the software.

It's easily fixed, but first try this -- change both the thumbnail width and height to 256. Now try creating an HTML page. Let me know if that works.

If it does, I can get this fixed quickly and have a beta version for you to download tonight.

Sorry about the problem. It's either a quirk of your video card, or the fact that it's a little bit older.

Oh, regarding not seeing your posts -- this forum (only general support) is moderated, meaning we have to approve each message or they won't show up.

yes, changing to 256W and 256H worked. The layout is a bit unexpected, with a huge part of the page (280 pixels high) taken up by "name" and "url"
Strange that a smaller thumbnail size (the default size) was causing the crash.

With a more reasonable (like the default) thumbnail size, the layout will be better. Also try adding some descriptions in the File Properties / File Information fields -- they show up on the PhotoFusion page too.

256 is a power of two which is what your video card needs. Go here:

Use your same name/code to download and install the beta version. It should work with any thumbnail size. If not, do let us know.
