I've found the grade and elevation graphs useful when planning bike routes. When doing the routes it would be nice if descent grades could be shown as negative to differentiate from ascents in the direction of travel. I like to take the easier way up and enjoy the fast drop down. I also looked, but didn't find for a way to reverse the route. Does it exist or is that another thing for the wish list.

Reversing a route (a track, that is) is easy. Use the profile/merge tool to click on the track, then hit the "V" key. Or, with the track selected hit the right mouse button and select "Reverse last segment" in the menu.

As for negative grade, I have no idea why we aren't showing it as negative. It should be, so thanks for pointing that out.

Grades would only be negative based on direction of travel. Reversing direction would then make negative grades become positive.

Right. Reversing it will have that effect.

Check out the new version - 2.6. Â The grade now shows up as negative, and changing the Y-axis to grade now shows negative and positive as well. Â It's more useful than before. Â Thanks for pointing this out.
