Title: feature request: text and icon insertion on map
Post by: mcdavis on February 12, 2005, 10:57:39 PM
hey, i just found your program..i've been playing with it for 3 days now...it's just wonderful!

i'm wondering if you could have a pull down for inserting things onto the map: such as text and icons.  you could use the pointer to put these things anywhere on the make before you begin to make a jpeg for printing.

this would be helpful, for instance to put direction arrows on a loop to tell which way the loop direction is

i can finally give my Topo Usa 4 compact disc to my dog  :)

You can do text using waypoints (and you can turn the dot off too), but a preset symbol for direction arrow is a good idea.  The fact that you can't tell which direction a loop is traveling has always bothered me and I really want to come up with a solution to it.

:D , the program we used before getting fed up and writing our own was TopoUsa 3.  I can't even use it anymore the interface is so horrible.
