Now that you have autodownload of the DEM's would it be possible to add the elvation gain/loss along with the distance when we draw in a new route? This would be a very useful feature.

Yep, you can do it now in 2.5, but it isn't very obvious unfortunately.

Go to climbing analysis, select the drawn track and hit "add elevation to track" (with download -- US only selected).  It will zoom the map to the track, download, and add elevation.

I'm using it all the time for new routes.

Maybe you could make this available under the Track Properties dialog as well? That would allow both track points and waypoints to be "snapped" to the DEM data.

Way cool, BTW. This feature's worth the price of admission all by itself.
